The Mist Trail

The Mist Trail is the ultimate Yosemite Valley Hike. About 1 mile off the Valley floor you enter into a realm of mist, mossy rock, trees, and beautiful waterfalls. You will get wet on this hike, so be prepared with rain gear and good shoes. The mist keeps you cool though as you ascend a staircase hewn in the rock. If you are feeling tired on the 1 mile approach, don't turn around at the water station. Take a break, fill up on water, and walk the short 200 yards into the Mist Trail. The view after that short hike is worth a million times the extra effort. I see many people tired and turning around when just around the corner is cool mist and awesome beauty.
