Bryce Hiking

Navajo Loop
If you have a short time, the Navajo Loop is quick and beautiful. About 1.3 miles around, starting at Sunset Point, taking you past Thor's Hammer, and then down through the Hoodoos as you descend to the canyon floor. Then up through Wall Street where the hoodoos surround you like vertical cliffs.
Queens Garden Trail to Navajo Loop
If you have a few hours, start at Sunrise point and descend the Queens Garden trail. Go see the Queen and then hike about 0.8 miles to meet up with the Navajo Loop. You can go up to the rim either way. Both ways are great. I recommend descending the Queen's Garden Trail by headlamp before sunrise. It's an easy trail and you really want to be at the bottom of the trail almost into Queen's Garden while the sun is rising. The hoodoos glow with the rising sun and great pictures are in every direction. Oh, and you will be alone as well. You can look up at the hords of photographers perched on the rim pushing each other for a good shot. You'll be in it getting the best shots. Also, you can just sit and watch the sun rise and allow it all to sink in. It's a moment you will not forget. Then, as you hike the rest of the trail, you will be in relative isolation for the next few hours and you'll be rising up out of the rim as others are just coming down. You still have time for lunch and more hiking!
Here is my EveryTrail Guide to The Queen's Garden Trail with video clips along the way!
Sunset Point to Bryce Point (The Tony Farley Trail)
The hike I took while filiming my Below The Rim episode started at Sunset Point, down past Thor's Hammer and over to the Peekaboo Loop where I took the westernmost side of the loop. This part of the loop takes you up through some beautiful Hoodoo formations, through notches, and then under the towering windows that must bee seen. Then, I hiked up the steep 1.1 miles to Bryce Point. After resting a bit at Bryce Point, I hiked the Rim Trail back to Sunset Point. A great all day hike that is unforgettable!
